How to Meet Quality Standards When Uploading Music to Spotify and Other Digital Platforms

When Indiefy music distribution to get your art into the platforms it is important that the tracks in your release meet the standards that the stores require. This does not mean that you have to record in large studios in order to distribute music as technology becomes more advanced and accessible. Today we have tools that artists like The Beatles did not have at the time, to give an example. There are currently different hardware tools (microphones, interfaces, MIDI controllers) and software (Digital Audio Workstations, Sample Libraries, virtual instruments) that can help you have a sound that matches your artistic project. We can't tell you exactly what you should sound like since that depends a lot on your creative freedom, however, there are certain specific cases in which we won't be able to publish your music. These are: - Silences in the audio: If the material you distribute has more than 10 seconds of silence at any moment of the track - Track too short or too long: The minimum duration of a track must be 1 minute (with exceptions in intros or outros that have consistency in an album) and a maximum of 20 minutes. - Very high or very low volume: Despite the fact that Indiefy and the stores try to normalize the audio levels, it is recommended to comply with the standards set out in this Spotify article. - Low Audio Quality: Releases that are recorded on cell phones contain distorted audio or any other issue that makes it difficult to listen clearly may be rejected. If you avoid the previous points you will be able to complete the digital distribution of your music.

What Happens When You Switch from a PRO to Basic Subscription on Indiefy? Consequences and Considerations for Artists

What You Lose When Switching from PRO to Basic Switching from a PRO subscription to our Basic plan is an important decision. We want you to clearly understand the changes this entails. By moving to Basic, you will lose access to advanced tools and features exclusive to PRO, and any release published only under the PRO plan will be removed from those stores. Your releases will remain available only on platforms included in the Basic plan, such as Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, Amazon Music, Trebel and more. Key Differences Between PRO and Basic Indiefy offers two types of subscriptions: PRO and Basic. While the PRO plan provides advanced tools and broader distribution coverage, the Basic plan is designed for artists who want a free option with limited reach. Here’s a summary of the main changes when switching from PRO to Basic: Access to Distribution Platforms With a PRO plan, your releases can be published on more digital stores, reaching a wider audience. When switching to Basic, your releases will only remain on a limited number of platforms. Stores exclusive to PRO will no longer display your releases, which could impact your music’s visibility. Removal of Releases from Exclusive Stores When switching to Basic, your releases will be removed from premium stores available only to PRO users. While your songs will still be on major platforms like Spotify, Deezer, and Amazon Music, they may disappear from other stores that offered additional exposure and royalty revenue. Access to Advanced Tools The PRO plan includes tools that help boost your career: metadata editing, official artist profile management, detailed statistics, access to Content ID, distribution on UGC platforms, and a lower royalty withdrawal threshold. Switching to Basic will remove these features, limiting your options to maximize your music’s reach. We understand that this change may be disappointing and could affect your music’s availability. However, this policy ensures we maintain the quality standards of our partner stores while providing a premium experience for PRO users.
