When you release your first song, Spotify usually creates a profile for you automatically. This profile doesn’t belong to anyone until the artist claims it. Claiming it is very easy and allows you to customize your profile, add photos, a bio, and access tools like Spotify for Artists. At Indiefy, we explain how to do it:
- Go to Spotify for Artists and click Get Access.
- Select your role: if you are the artist or manage your own account, choose Artist or Manager. If you work for a label, select the appropriate option.
- You will see the option to claim your profile. Click Continue.

Log in with your Spotify account. It doesn’t matter if it’s Premium or free. You can also log in using your Google account if it’s linked. Spotify may send a verification code to your email; check your inbox and enter the code.

Search for and select your artist profile.
- Add a contact email. This email will be used by Spotify to send you business information, promotional messages, and updates about Spotify for Artists. You can use a business email or, if you don’t have one, a personal email. Spotify will send a verification code to this email; enter it to confirm.
- Complete your access details: first name, last name, hometown, and role (choose Artist). Complete the captcha and click Next.
- Provide additional information to verify your identity as an artist, such as links to your website or social media profiles (for example, Instagram). This helps Spotify review your claim.
- Once submitted, Spotify’s team will review your information. If they need more evidence, they will email you requesting additional links or details. Provide the requested information, and your claim will be approved.
✅ Once approved, you will have full access to your profile, be able to update your profile picture, add a bio, check analytics, and use all the tools offered by Spotify for Artists.
