Can I submit a cover song?

If you have a reinterpretation of one of your favourite songs or your fans have asked you for a cover, you can do it. The best way to publish a cover is by first obtaining a license. To do this, you can contact specialized licensing companies such as https://www.harryfox.com or https://www.easysong.com.

An unlicensed cover may be submitted for review on Indiefy under certain circumstances however we cannot guarantee its publication or permanence in stores. This will depend on different factors, however, there are some recommendations so that they can be accepted:

• It must be a recording and/or own arrangement: Covers that include the same backing track/instrumental base as the original song will not be accepted
• It is necessary to add the original writers/composers in the metadata.
• The original artist may not be mentioned in the release title, track title or on the cover.

Please note that approved covers may have limitations on the stores and territories in which they are published and that these may not generate royalties and if they do, they will be saved in case the original artist claims them.
