My release was not published on Amazon Music. What can I do?

Important information about Amazon Music

More and more stores are becoming more selective in the content they publish and for this, they ask artists, labels and distributors to comply with certain rules. Previously Apple Music was the only platform with particularly strict guidelines, however, this is beginning to become a trend among some other stores to guarantee quality content for their listeners/subscribers.

 
As an independent artist these standards will always be within your reach as long as you take into account 3 important rules: Correct metadata, Cover art and Audio quality (as well as avoiding any risky content that can avoid your music to be published on this or other stores).
 

Metadata

 
Metadata is all the information related to your release such as the release title, track title, language specs, also, if it contains lyrics, the language of the lyrics and the specifications on whether it is explicit or not explicit. Make sure all the metadata matches your song correctly so it can be published. If you add wrong information (metadata) your song may be left out of stores.
 
An important issue in the metadata for Amazon is that featuring artists should not appear in the title of the release or the song titles, they should only be added in the corresponding field of "featuring artist" in the metadata.
 

Cover Art

 
The cover of your release needs to have the following characteristics:
  • 1700 X 1700 pixels at least (avoid enlarged images)
  • 72 DPI
  • PNG or JPG files
  • Avoid pixelated images
  • Avoid frames
  • Avoid putting single-color backgrounds on your cover
  • Avoid logos and/or typography that are not related to your release.
  • The cover should only include text that indicates the title of the release and the name of the artist (as it is written in the metadata)
  • The Parental Advisory logo is not essential if it’s explicit content, but if you use it, it must be with an adequate resolution and only this format:

Audio quality

 
Amazon will NOT accept low-quality audio and tracks that incur the following:
  • Incomplete audio
  • Tracks or audio with a silence of more than 10 seconds
  • Tracks or audio with a track duration less than 60 seconds (with exceptions such as intros and outros of some albums)
