In behalf of the Indiefy team, we would like to introduce you to the royalty split service, below you will find more information about how it works and what are the steps to set up this service:
How it works:
With this new feature, we no longer need to rely on third-party providers or manually divide royalties. Now you have the ability to fully customize the payment percentage for each collaborator on your songs or albums.
This means you can assign royalties percentages in a completely personalized way, according to each collaborator's individual contributions to your release. There are no more limitations, and you have the freedom to establish royalty splits as it best suits you.
This feature gives you total control over your earnings and ensures that each collaborator receives their fair share of royalties generated by digital stores where your content is distributed.
What do I need to use this service?
The first step would be to set up an account and subscribe to our PRO service, alternatively, if you already have an account, it’s just a matter of making the upgrade which you can do so here:
https://indiefy.net/pro
(We recommend that the account that you use for the upgrade is the “main account”, where you’ll be publishing your releases, however you can disburse the total amount of royalties, you can read more below).
Once the account/upgrade has been set up, the next step is to create one account per contributor, i.e. if your release has a composer and a lyricist, you will need to create two accounts. These accounts aren’t necessary to upgrade.
The next step is to set up a Stripe or Payoneer account for each contributor that you need to add.
How do I set up the percentages that each contributor will receive?
The percentages will be modified when creating a new distribution project, in the second page where you need to add the contributors:
Click on the ‘Add new’ to add another contributor (the account where you're publishing the release will always appear with the full legal name as the composer by default, but you can disburse the royalties between the other accounts and leave the main one in a manager role), we recommend adding the full legal name of additional contributors in their respective accounts.
In the next window you will be able to add the legal name of the contributor, the role of said contributor and the amount of royalties you wish to add to said contributor (in accordance with your own personal agreements).
You’ve successfully added a contributor to your release and your contributor will also receive a percentage of the royalties as you specified.
